AbstractThis summary report presents key findings from a large evaluation of the effectiveness of the Incredible Years BASIC Preschool/Early School Years Parent Training (IYP) programme as an intervention for Irish children (aged approx. 3-7yrs) with emotional and behavioural difficulties. The evaluation involved three separate, but inter-related sub-studies including: (1) an experimental study (or Randomised Controlled Trial (RCT)); (2) a qualitative study involving interviews with parents who were included in the RCT in order to assess their experiences and views of the programme; and (3) a cost analysis of the IYP programme.
