AbstractSoftware Development is not always a “Green Field” process, and software developers often find themselves maintaining old code. UML CASE tools provide the ability to reverse engineer source code. Software developers may find themselves needing to reverse engineer some source code in order to understand its design. Since there are a number of UML CASE tools available, the question many organisations face is: Which one suits our needs best? To answer this question they will need to evaluate all the available tools, measure the results of this evaluation and rank the tools based on the evaluation.
